OoOoOoOoOo

Negi and his friends were walking through the mysterious jungle that they landed in. It’s been four days since he and his party were separated due to the foul schemes of Fate Averruncus. Now he, his students Chachamaru and Chisame, along with his best friend the wolf-boy Kotarou journey towards a town in the hopes of getting their bearings and reuniting their comrades. One particularly hot afternoon though, they found themselves between a large flowing river and a tall wall of earth covered in vines that lead up to a high, steep cliff.

“Negi-sensei. I still think you need to rest up for a bit every now and then.” the android Chachamaru said concernedly. Kotarou however, shook his head disapprovingly and said, “Nee-chan, we don’t have time for that! We’re only a few hours before we reach town. I’m sure Negi wants to find Asuna and the others as soon as possible right, Negi?”

The young boy mage looked at his best friend and was about too nod in agreement when he saw the worried look on Chachamaru’s face. A look that she had been wearing quite often recently. Seeing this, he smiled at Kotarou and said “Kotarou, let’s rest up even for a little while.” The young youkai was about to retort when Negi whispered in his ear, “Look, Chachamaru’s been taking care of me very well and I don’t wanna worry her like this. Even if it’s just for a while okay?” Kotarou sighed in defeat and said, “Hai… hai… geez…”

Chisame (who was currently being carried by Chachamaru by the way) got off her classmate and looked around anxiously. “L-let’s not take too long all right? I don’t wanna run into more monsters.” she said as she recalled her last experience with the creatures of this bizarre world. Strong, slimy tentacles, saliva that only melts away your clothes and undergarments, not to mention a disturbingly perverted nature. The closet internet idol shivered tearfully as she felt like it was still there groping in areas a normal man would wind up getting castrated for touching.

Suddenly she felt a slight breeze and she instinctively pressed down on her skirt but it seemed that no matter how many times she pressed it down, the breeze kept getting stronger and stronger. What was strange though was the breeze blew in short powerful gusts and there was also a strange whooshing sound that accompanied them.

“Negi-sensei, what’s with this win-!?” she was about to ask when she saw the baffled and terrified looks of her companions. That could only mean one thing…

Chisame slowly looked up to where the gusts of wind were coming from and her jaw instantly dropped in terror.

A large, ferocious looking wyvern was slowly descending down upon them. Its eyes were looking hungrily at the hapless girl below while its short, dagger-like teeth and large claws gleamed maliciously in the small specks of sunlight. It had a short beaky upper jaw while its lower jaw had a long thin spike that jutted from the chin. Its scales were of the color gold and had three crests on its head while its large wings bore numerous crescent shape markings over them. Finally, on its upper back were many hair-like spines and it had a deadly looking tail with an oval shaped club with a brush of similar hair-like spikes at the tip.

Chisame simply stood, completely petrified at the sight of this overly powerful looking creature. >Wh-what the hell is this thing!? It’s like a super buffed version of some large boss from a crazy monster hunting game!

“Nee-chan!? What are doing?! Move!” Kotarou whispered urgently as the golden wyvern came closer and closer to the ground. “C’mon, just rush a few steps aside and I’ll hit it with my wolf spirits!” he hissed at her but the girl was just simply too stunned to listen.

There was a few seconds that passed after the monster landed… However, as Chisame was just about to actually do what Kotarou said, it roared excitedly and she screamed as it violently charged at her!

Its jaws were merely inches from her waist when suddenly the ground beneath it collapsed and it was now writhing frantically in a large messy trap hole. There was an immediate noise of rustling vegetation and she immediately saw someone dash from out of one the nearby bushes.

“Gotcha!!” the person yelled out triumphantly; this one had a young male voice and was wearing a fancy reptilian-like armor with the face of a roaring dragon on the upper torso. In his hand was an unbelievably large sword that looked like it was carved out of the tail of a big blue dragon with silver colored blades running down the edges.

“Hyaah!!” he cried wildly as he jumped amazingly high and swung his blade upward and dealing a deep gash upon the left side of the monster’s face. He then smoothly began to jump down across the creature’s neck and diving the point of his blade headfirst into the monster’s back of spines. The wyvern then cried out furiously as it doubled its efforts to free itself from the pit and at the same time causing the young warrior to swing around as he clung onto his sword.

“Go!” he yelled at the girl and she needn’t to be told twice as she instantly ran towards her friends (screaming no less).

Negi and the others were almost about to run away when the young mage looked worriedly at the person who saved them. The mysterious knight had managed to use the monsters erratic movements to pull out his blade and land right in front of it again.

To Negi’s horror, the wyvern made one great heave and its body was now freed from the trap. The knight too however, looked like he had just begun to fight. He swung his giant blade as if to throw it away and it immediately dispersed in a haze of pale blue wisps. Afterwards, he held both of his hands out to his sides and the same blue wisps then began to gather in his palms. The wisps then formed into a shorter but sleeker sword in each of his hands. These looked like they were carved out of long silver fangs and the hand guards on each of them appeared to be a bright blue scale.

Before the wyvern could make a dash for him though, the knight rushed in between its legs, blades stretched out and slashed it sharply behind its ankles. The resulting damage to such vital parts of its feet caused it to stumble clumsily. He the proceeded to the side of its tail and began unleashing an insane wave of slashes all the while laughing excitedly.

“Sugoi…” Kotarou said incredulously as the wyvern was now writhing helplessly while its tail was slowly being severed. Then with both hands raised high, the knight dispersed the two swords into wisps again only to fuse them together to form a long shiny katana. It looked no different from any other katana with the exception of its extremely long length, and the fact that its handle was carved out of the root of a claw.

With a wild cry, the knight brought the katana down and the creature’s tail instantly flew off, aggravating it further as it rolled on to its back and let out a burning ball of flame from its mouth. The knight easily dodged the blast and quickly jumped on the monster’s chest before dexterously slicing off the spike on its chin. He then moved on to dealing more damage to it by violently carving out various parts of its crest with his sharp katana.

Finally, he twirled the blade a few times and it immediately began turning into wisps again. This time though, it appeared to merely change in shape and when it reformed into a weapon once more, it was again back into the large sword that he wielded earlier. He held it firmly in his hand upside down and viciously impaled the monster through the heart.

The wyvern struggled desperately as its own blood poured down its sides but after a few seconds its body came to a still.

Negi watched in amazement as the knight pulled out his sword and banished it once more. He then jumped down from the creature’s body and appeared to wipe his brow even though he was wearing a helmet that covered his whole head.

Suddenly he punched both his fists together and the armor he wore instantly vanished in the same manner as his weapons.

Underneath the armor was a young man with moon yellow eyes and long brown hair with a green headband marked with tribal zigzags strapped around his head. He had no shirt but wore a blue, tribal-style vest with images of serpents lining the edges. Around his neck was a necklace with seven, crescent moon-shaped trinkets dangling from it. He wore a battered pair of blue jeans and nothing but black sandals on his feet.

The young man grinned triumphantly as he held his hand in front of him. From out of the dead wyvern’s body came numerous wisps that were similar to the ones he used to call forth his weapons, except that they were colored yellow. As all the wisps finally gathered in his hand, their combined light shining throughout the forest, the boy forcefully snapped his fist shut and extinguished it. Sighing with satisfaction, he reached into his pocket and took out a small camping knife apparently unaware that Negi’s group was still watching him.

“It’ll take a while before the Guild gets here,” Negi heard him say as he began twirling the knife in his hands while examining the monster’s corpse. “I might as well help myself for a bit.”

With that he began slowly carving out something out of the monster’s head. Upon seeing what he was doing, Negi suddenly looked like he realized something and turned to his friends.

“C’mon guys, we wouldn’t wanna bother him while he’s working.” he said with a casual smile as he then continued walking onwards. Chisame however, grabbed by the shoulder and asked, “Working? What are you talking about?”

“I’ll explain later. But for now, let’s go. The others are waiting.” he said happily as they continued their journey.

Just a little crossover oneshot that kept getting in my head while I was still writing Twilight Generation. I figured if I didn't at least write it down, it'd kept nagging me and make me lose focus but now that I'm done, I felt like posting it.

This fic sorta happens between the end of chapter 192 and the beginning of chapter 193 of the manga.

However, just for fun I figured I'd try making this a sort of secret/surprise crossover so feel free to guess what exactly I am mixing Negima with okay? (Hint: my disclaimer is the ultimate giveaway XD)

Disclaimer:

Negima is owned by Ken Akamatsu (not me!)
Goldhart is property of Capcom.
